Innovation 2011: winners’ awarding


April 7, 2011 at the Centre of Contemporary Culture «Garage» took place the sixth solemn ceremony of awarding the All-Russian competition in the field of contemporary visual art INNOVATION. Traditionally, co-organizer of the ceremony came out the cultural and charitable fund U-Art, sponsor — a group of companies UNIDENT.
Each time the awards ceremony of the contest turns into an audiovisual performance under the direction of Andrei Silvestrov, and this year the ceremony was held in collaboration with the unique Finnish band «Mieskuoro Huutajat (Chorus Krikunov)" and the famous composer Iraida Yusupova.

Decorations of Ceremony started on sketches Stepan Lukyanov stressed feature, the solemnity, the uniqueness of what he saw. But the main heroes of the ceremony — are its members — beginners and recognized artists, curators, art historians.

Award «Innovation» — one of the major national awards scheme in the field of contemporary art. Award presentation took place in the presence of all the main characters of the Russian art scene: the curators, gallery owners, artists, collectors, critics, and a large gathering of media representatives. This year's innovation has caused serious resonance in the cultural community that the shortlist of nominees included art-group «War» with its notorious action, it is worth noting that this «War» and won the top prize.

Annual special prize and a cash prize of cultural and charitable fund U-Art, shared between Alice Prudnikova for I Urals industrial Biennale of Contemporary Art and Irina Korina for installation «show trial». The Founders Award was given stock — Iveta and Tamaz Manasherovy.
In the State Center of Contemporary Art at the Zoological street 13, anyone can visit the exhibition of the nominees and winners of the INNOVATION. This is a vivid and memorable installations, curatorial projects, sculpture, visual canvas, art collages, photographs by contemporary authors. We are confident that the exposure will resonate in the hearts of art lovers and unsophisticated public, as a reflection of our times and modern life.

From September 27th till October 1st in Moscow has passed the Third international Cello Festival VIVACELLO. It is the only Russian festival devoted to cello music. This year among the participants are world-renowned musicians such as Yuri Bashmet, Julian Rachlin, Sergei Nakaryakov, Alexander Rudin, Claudio Boorkes, Katia Skanavi and famous musical collectives.

In September 2010 in France within the program «Year of Russia in France and France in Russia» two personal exhibitions of one of the famous modern artist Oscar Rabin were started at once. Rabin, an expressionist, nonconformist and the founder of the «Lianozovsky group» has presented more than 100 author's works, drawings, archival photos of the Soviet epoch.

The exhibition with such a poetic and mysterious name was opened on August 12 in Benois Wing of the State Russian Museum. In four halls the image of sky was presented by many artists who worked in different epochs and represented the different styles and ways of art. Every visitor can find his sky here.

The exhibition of Lado Gudiashvili, “The Paris Years, 1920-1925” opened on July 1, 2010, in the Stroganov Palace of the Russian Museum in St.-Petersburg. The exposition was previously presented in the Tretyakov Gallery. Exposition includes art works of Lado Gudiashvili from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery and private collection of Tamaz and Iveta Manasherov. This is the most complete collection of the Georgian artist of the XX century which was presented to a wide audience..

From 9th till 17th of March the Second International Violoncello Festival "VIVACELLO" took place on the scene of the Great Hall of the conservatory and Theater "School of Drama Art" in Moscow. During the festival 4 concerts of classic music took place.
