The II Photobiennale of The Russian Museum
In St. Petersburg is opening the exhibition of
participants of the II Photobiennale of The Russian
Museum. On March 23 in the Marble Palace, you will see 350 photos of
various genres, which represent a cross-section of modern art photographers
both professionals and amateurs. Sponsor and founder of a special prize
Photobiennale is the cultural and charity
foundation U-Art: You and
the Art.
Russian museum workers suggest that regular exhibitions
of «Museum Biennial of Contemporary Photography» provides an opportunity to
acquaint the viewer with the work of contemporary Russian photographers every
two years.
Current members of the artistic process become a large
number of photographers from different regions of the country, thanks to
information and technical capabilities, Internet communications.
All comers could send their works to participate in the
Photobiennale. This year staff of the Russian Museum received more than 2000
photos, of which museum's advisory council selected work for exhibition.
Conventionally, the work can be divided into nine thematic
sections: «Scene,» «Everyday,» «City,» «Faces,» «Still-Life», «The
beauty of the body,» «Landscape», «believers», «Imaginary.»
Thematic and genre diversity of products involved in this
ambitious project, allows you to discover the catholicity of photography art,
to demonstrate its inherent expressiveness and imaginative artistic
language.
Traditionally, during the Exhibition take place the voting
that will determine the most favorite audience’s photos. These works along with
the choice of an expert jury will be selected to participate in a special
exhibition of works by the winners Biennale.
Authors of best photos will be awarded, including a special
prize of the cultural and charity foundation U-Art: You and the Art.

On the 3rd of November, the performance of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra in the Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory will open the Fifth Festival «VIVACELLO». One of the world’s famous bands led by Stefan Vladar will mark the beginning of a number of concerts by the eminent musicians that will be performed at the best Moscow sites for a fortnight.

At the ceremony of awarding the winners of the VIII All-Russian Contemporary Visual Art Competition “Innovation” the best art projects of the past year were announced. On April 9, the Manezh central exhibition hall housed artists, art experts, supervisors and people interested in what is going on in the Russian contemporary art.

October 25 through November 12, Moscow welcomed
Vivacello International Cello Festival which traditionally enjoyed great success. The best concert venues of the capital city threw open their doors for musicians from across the world and for the appreciative Moscow audience. Each concert was unique and could evoke interest among the most different public.

An exhibition of People’s Artist Evgeny Zevin, organized with the assistance of U-Art Fund and UNIDENT Group of Companies, has been inaugurated in Saint Petersburg, in the Marble Palace halls.
The artist participated already in the very first initiatives of Moscow nonconformists and this review display includes some rare canvases. The exhibition is to be visited till January 16.

The all-Russian competition in the area of the modern visual art Innovation has marked its end. The main prize in the nomination A Work of Visual Art has been awarded to the project of Alexander Brodsky Cisterna. And a special prize of the U-Art: You and Art fund went to Olga Shishko for the research dedicated to the issue of crossing of the modern visual art and cinema spaces.
