SGS system training courses
Group of UNIDENT companies provided training
courses for dental implantologists and orthopedists, as well as for dental
mechanics in the field of SGS system in Moscow. Robert Kinsman, member of
European association of dental implantologists reported on the
possibilities of arch restoration according to “all-on-four” and “all-on-six”
solutions. Within the seminar, that was held on April 24th and
25th , the operation of fixing six implants in the upper jaw bone
inside maxillary sinuses was performed.
The majority of patients, being in need for complete tooth
restoration, when applying to Russian dental clinics, have to make
removable dentures or over-dentures. Such medical indications as insufficient
bone volume or high treatment price prevent people from unremovable
constructions with better functional and aesthetic characteristics.
“All-on-four” and “all-on-six” implantation systems help to avoid bone blocks
and sinus-augmentation moreover they are less expensive. That is why many
European doctors have been using this system for over 15 years.
Moscow specialists were trained by Robert Kinsman,
practitioner from Budapest, member of European association of dental
implantologists and SGS consultant. He reported on treatment planning
procedures, implant fixing protocol under given conditions and on possible
denture treatment options. He also discussed the operation performed within the
training course.
The operation was performed by Igor Ashurko, Deputy Medical
Director for dental surgery development of the network of clinics “Unident
Stomathology”. Distal implants were fixed at an angle which helped to avoid
additional sinus floor operation procedures (sinus lifting) and consequently to
minimize time limits and injury effects of the surgical interference.
Orthopedic part was performed by an orthopedist Anna Kaznatcheeva immediately
on the day of operation day and it included impression taking and unremovable
“all-on-six” denture fixing on the next day.
— We have already started using this kind of denture in
our clinics, says Oksana Vereshchagina, Medical Director of
Unident
Stomatology. — We have been working with SGS
systems for a long time, but we have started using multiunit
abatements only now because of the lack of experience.
Today many of our specialists are already well-trained and
now we have invited our foreign colleagues for experience exchange. One of the
most important goals for our clinics is to make implantology available to any
category of people. That is why we continue training our surgeons, orthopedists
and dental mechanics to make them well-qualified to work with this system.
SGS specialists, including Guy Krichelli, the developer of
the system, also lectured on SGS system for the employees of dental laboratory
“Unident Stomathology” one of the biggest modern laboratories in Moscow.
