Maillefer Celebrates a 125th Anniversary
The founder of the Swiss company August Maillefer set up
the manufacturing of innovative for their time high tech dental tools late in
the XIX century. Today, the company continues traditions laid out by its
founder and maintains the quality of its products at the highest level
supplying high-tech tools and complex endodontic solutions for dentists
globally.
In 1995, the company was acquired by a world leader in
dentistry and today it is a part of Dentsply International corporation.
Today the Swiss unit Dentsply Maillefer alone includes about 900 employees
involved in over 120 priority projects. Three manufacturing sites in Ballage
provide manufacture of up to million of units of products annually. Besides,
the company pays much attention to innovative developments. Each year 2—3 new
products of Dentsply Maillefer are marketed in the global dentistry market.
Julian Oliviera is the oldest employee of the company who
has worked at Maillefer for 48 years. “I came to the company when I was 16 and
it was a wonderful opportunity for me. Why? Because Maillefer back then was a
quality standard in dentistry, and in a few years the company reputation
remained the same. I am proud to be a part of Dentsply Maillefer”, says
Julian Oliviera.

This year, the Swiss holding SGS portfolio has been broadened with a new range of implants with conical connection with suprastructures. Also innovations have been developed in prosthetics. At SGS we aim to continue intensive modernization and by the end of the year the company is going to implement a few projects to improve performance.
